About Numra

Free financial calculators and guides you can actually trust

Numra exists to answer one frustration: most online financial calculators are cluttered with intrusive ads, hidden behind sign-up walls, or give you a number with no explanation of how they got there. We wanted to build the opposite — clean, fast, genuinely free tools that respect your time and help you understand your money.

What we offer

Numra provides a suite of financial calculators covering the decisions that matter most: income tax and take-home pay, stamp duty, mortgage repayments, self-employed tax, capital gains, rental yield, compound interest, loan repayments and redundancy pay. Each one gives live results as you type, with clear breakdowns so you understand the figures — not just the final number.

Alongside the calculators, our Guides section explains the concepts behind the numbers in plain English, from how UK tax bands work to what counts as a good rental yield.

How we keep our calculators accurate

Accuracy is the whole point of a calculator, so we take it seriously:

  • Tax rates and thresholds are sourced from official bodies including HMRC, the ATO, the CRA and the IRS.
  • We review rates after each government budget and update for the new tax year.
  • Every calculator shows the tax year and the source basis it uses, so you always know what you're looking at.
  • We clearly mark our tools as providing estimates, and we always recommend consulting a qualified professional for formal advice.

Our editorial approach

Our guides are written to be genuinely useful, not to fill space. We aim for clarity over jargon, include worked examples wherever possible, and focus on the questions people actually ask. We do not publish content designed purely to attract search traffic without serving the reader. Where a topic touches on tax or legal matters, we are clear about the limits of general information and point readers toward professional advice.

How Numra is funded

Numra is free to use and always will be. We cover the costs of building and maintaining the tools through unobtrusive advertising. We deliberately keep ads light so they never get in the way of using the calculators. We never charge for access, and we never put tools behind a sign-up wall.

Who builds Numra

Numra is built and maintained by BranDive, a digital and brand studio that designs and develops web tools, sites and products for small and medium businesses. Numra is our own product — a demonstration of the kind of clean, functional, user-first tools we believe the web needs more of.

If you'd like to work with us, or you have feedback or spotted an error in one of our calculators, we'd genuinely like to hear from you via our contact page.

A note on advice

Numra provides information and estimates for educational purposes. We are not accountants, financial advisers or solicitors, and nothing on Numra constitutes professional advice. For decisions that affect your finances, always consult an appropriately qualified professional who can consider your full circumstances.
